Biography

Roldán Rodríguez biography — Driver & TV Host

Professional racing driver born on 9 November 1984 in Valladolid, Spain. A life at the top of motorsport — from karting to Formula 1 — and, since 2016, one of the voices of F1 on TV and radio. Today I combine racing driver, journalist and ambassador for premium brands and events.

Chapter 01 · The beginnings

1995 — 2001

Karting: where it all started

Like most professional racing drivers, my four-wheel story started in a kart. I was 11 years old the first time I climbed in and, from the very first session, I knew this was what I'd dedicate my life to.

Chapter 02 · The step up

2002 — 2006

From karts to single-seaters

In 2002 I moved up to single-seaters in the Spanish Formula Junior 1600 Championship. From there the natural progression: Formula Renault and Formula 3.

Each category was one step closer to the goal: Formula 1.

Chapter 03 · The elite

2007 — 2010

F3000, GP2 and Formula 1

The natural step to F1's antechamber: International F3000 and GP2 Series, sharing the grid with names that are world references today. At Spa-Francorchamps, Monaco, Hungaroring and Silverstone I learnt to race at the limit against the planet's best.

The dream came true with official Formula 1 tests at the wheel of the Spyker-Ferrari at Silverstone. Being inside an F1 car changes the way you understand this sport forever, and it's the foundation behind everything I tell in front of a camera today.

Chapter 04 · Grand Touring

2010+

Moving into GT racing

After the single-seater years a new chapter began: GT racing. I competed in GT3 and GT4 with manufacturers like BMW and Toyota, in international championships such as the International GT Open on iconic circuits — Spa-Francorchamps, Monza, Barcelona.

A discipline very different from single-seaters: teamwork, tyre management, co-driver handovers and endurance racing. Another way of understanding motorsport that enriches my view of the sport.

Chapter 05 · The new voice

2016 — Today

TV and radio: telling F1 from the inside

In 2016 I take on a new challenge: moving from the track to the studio. I start as a journalist and Formula 1 TV host, covering F1 and support races such as Formula 3, Formula 2 and the Porsche Supercup, plus IndyCar, on Movistar F1 and Cadena COPE and, from launch, on DAZN F1.

Pit lane, grid, paddock, driver interviews, technical analysis and radio: translating what happens on track so every fan can understand it. My experience as a driver lets me tell F1 with a distinctive voice — technical judgement and respect for the sport.

Chapter 06 · Balancing both worlds

Today

Racing driver, journalist and ambassador

Today I balance all three roles. I'm still in the car for coaching programmes, I cover F1 every Grand Prix weekend on TV, and I interview drivers like Fernando Alonso, Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris face-to-face during the race weekend.

All that experience — racing, broadcasting and connecting — is what I bring to premium brands and events: launches, galas, brand activations, content and brand ambassadorships.
