The driver from Valladolid Roldan Rodriguez (GP Racing) made his debut today in the Euroseries 3000 with a victory and a second place in the first two qualifying days, held at the Italian circuit of Vallelunga.
The Spaniard, who is the leader of the championship, was second in the first trial and got first in the second after starting from the 7th position.
In the first race, Rodriguez started second and early on it, he got rid of the Frenchman Nicolas Prost (ELK Motorsport), who made the pole.
In the second race, the Spaniard started from the 7th place (they start from reverse order) and he was already on top at the first curve.
Roldan had more than 7 seconds of advantage, but close to end of the race he stepped out of the circuit and the security car had to come out so he had to push it hard to avoid his rivals. At the end, he won by 3 seconds to the Brazilian Luiz Razia (ELK Motorsport). Third was Onidi.
“Its been a weekend with a lot of work involved, especially because of the weight and the change of the gear box. I ended up driving the car that gave me problems on Saturday and it was a bit slower, but winning a race and being second in the other it’s a good payback for all the effort with done and after these 2 races I’m the leader of the championship, which is not bad at all”, Rodriguez declared, who expects to be able to do his debut in Montmelo next weekend on the GP2 Series.
