ROLDAN DRIVES THE SPYKER F1 IN SILVERSTONE

The circuit of Silverstone was the scenario chosen by Spyker to make the driver from Valladolid Roldan Rodriguez, who disputes the GP2 Championship in the Minardi Piquet Sport team, try a F1 for his first time. After the good results obtained in the tests, they might call again the young driver.

Invited by the team, the Spaniard had his first contact with the Spyker Ferrari. “Everything it’s been great. We’ve tried many things, more than we expected at the beginning and we didn’t have any problems. I think this testing has been very useful for the team, even the time I made was good and we have all ended up being very satisfied” declared Rodriguez after driving for some laps.

Roldan rolled in the same circuit as where the Grand Prix of Great Britain is held, although he did so on the short side. “The tests have been done in the circuit club of Silverstone, which is smaller, but I could use the 7th gear while on the straights. We’ve been even practicing how to do the starts”. As far as comparing a GP2 and a F1, Roldan said: “the Spyker goes way better than a GP2, in the overall and especially on the breaks”.
